14 ways I love you!

Did you know that, "In Great Britain, Valentine's Day began to be popularly celebrated around the seventeenth century. By the middle of the eighteenth century, it was common for friends and lovers in all social classes to exchange small tokens of affection or handwritten notes. By the end of the century, printed cards began to replace written letters due to improvements in printing technology. Ready-made cards were an easy way for people to express their emotions in a time when direct expression of one's feelings was discouraged." ?No, I did not learn this in Preschool, I picked this up while doing some light reading and I found it quite interesting. It also sparked an idea...

While "ready-made" valentine's cards are great, I think those in the eighteenth century had it right by exchanging "handwritten notes of affection".

So, on February 1st for FHE, I told mom I was in charge of the activity.

Earlier that week I had convinced mom to buy some cute little mailboxes at the store for each of us.
(Aubri chose PINK)I gathered lots of fun stickers to decorate them.
Everyone did a great job and had lots of fun.
The mail boxes were Beautiful!

Then we cut strips of fun paper and put them nearby. (Even Aubri did her part!)

I then asked everyone in the family to take a strip of paper each day
and write one thing they love about each person.

Then we put them in their mailbox! On Valentine's day, we got to open them up and read all the fun,
sweet things about us that our family loves!
But more importantly it gave us a chance to stop and
think of all the great reasons that we love others.

I think I may have started a tradition!

I just heart Valentine's DAY!Hope yours was GREAT!
